About the blogger, Jess

My name is Jess and I used to work in the hospitality line. Part of my job then is to bring journalists to our resorts to stay and have fun.  Quite a dream job, isn't it? Over time, I developed the passion to travel and writes and since I'm no journalist, I will have to channel my journals here.

I graduated with an honours degree in Mass Communications and got my scroll from the then good looking prince.

I love to sing and dance although I only managed to show my dancing skill in public and save my singing skill in the confine of a karaoke room.

OK, this picture is quite deceiving. I'm not a fan of diving or snorkelling but I thought it looks cool. I'm the one that show the 'victory' sign cause I didn't know how to swim but managed to snorkel in the deep blue sea after being challenged by a group of journalists that I should do it. It happened in Pulau Payar, Langkawi.

I'm a coffee addict,
  a shopaholic,
and a little bit of a workaholic (or used to be). This is me in the cover of a local daily. My face is like 1 feet in length printed for all to see.  I guess I'm a young achiever since I was  given the responsibility to run 4 departments and over 100 employees at age 30.

I am now marketing and developing brands regionally. I love the freedom I have not only in terms of my time but also the freedom to brand and market the product however I like. Best of all, I get to travel pretty often which gives me the opportunity to continually see the world, mostly on company expense!

You know, there is a great man by the name of St. Augustine who says, "The world is a book, and those who do not travel reads only a page."  I couldn't agree more and I thank God that I have the little resources to travel and see the world and to experience different cultures. Every place I went, I learnt something new.

This blog is some of the experiences and memories that I try to note down. I probably have seen more than I can remember. Finally, I'd liked to borrow a quote from Mark Twain. He says, "Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
