Happy New Year 2015

I did something so out of the norm today, pushing and shoving among thousands in KLCC to see the New Year fireworks.  To be honest, I was expecting many people, but I didn't expect it was going to be so MUCH people. Although the pushing and shoving was not much fun, but the festivies, the trumpets, the cheerings and the overall happy atmosphere is superb. The excited and in-awe face of my little boy although he's a bit shock by the crowd is so worth it. We will talk about it ... "Remember the New Year Eve we spend pushing in the crowd?" ... yeah, that will be our story.

So, here's a one and a half minutes snippet of the very extravagance fireworks display in front of one of the most beautiful tower in the world.

David Guetta Live in Malaysia

Last Friday is one of the best Friday I've had in a long time. Seriously long time. Well, it goes back to about 2 weeks ago, my teenager niece came back for a semester break from Australia and she wanted to go to David Guetta's rave party. So she asked me. "Seriously? You wanna hang out with your aunty at a rave party?" OK so I know she must desperately wanted to go that she succumbed to ask me; so I obliged.

I posted an invitation on my Facebook hoping that some of my friends might be interested. One answer the invite and that's about it. In fact, most asked who's David Guetta and my answer is that if you have to ask, don't bother. And so we bought the tickets and drive our way to Sepang on a traffic horrendous rainy Friday evening. Bad start!

I got hold of this itinerary on the day itself and so we were cool on our drive there since Guetta only coming on at 11pm. Of course, all three of us are most probably praying quietly for the rain to stop. Guess what, it did stop when we reach there at about 9pm. I was expecting it to be somewhat a lukewarm party since most people doesn't know him and there wasn't even a lot of publicity going on. Boy was I wrong. The crowd was crazy. In fact I think Guetta mentioned 20,000 tickets were sold.

When we made our way in after the 3 tiers security check, Kaz James was spinning. And then Alesso took over at 10pm and it was a pleasant surprise. He's good. Finally at 11.30pm, Guetta came on and the crowd went crazy and probably a little bit drunk too. True to his accolades as the Best DJ in the World, Guetta used his magic power to rave up the 20,000 party goers to danced and jumped and screamed non-stop.

Explosive back ground panel and lighting
Put your fucking hands up ... Hell yeah!
Sorry but I hate party goers like this. So you expect people behind you to watch your behind?
Come down for god's sake.
Thanks Guetta! Definitely one of the best rave party I've attended.
There you go; 20 thousand people came to dance to Guetta.

While tired dancing, I took short breaks and also some short videos.

United Buddy Bears in KL!

Have you heard of the Berlin bear before? I have gotten it as souvenir from some business associates from Germany and it is mighty precious and beautiful. Anyway, I just found out that this Berlin bear now holds even more significant meaning. In 2001, they introduced the Buddy Bear exhibition in Berlin. The bear now measures 2m tall instead of the 10cm tall bear in my house. It has since grew into a different proportion altogether. Artistes from all over the world painted a bear to represent their country and these bears tour around the world in the quest to promote living in peace and harmony and hence the United Buddy Bears is born.

So, a total of 143 buddy bears has made its way to Southeast Asia for the first time. It is right now being exhibit in front of the Pavillion mall until February 2012. As a bear lover, I have of course made my way there the moment I heard about. It is just very timely to have the bears here right now because of the festive mood and the Christmas decorations around town. It just make the reason the buddy bears being here a lot of meaningful.

Country : Israel
The body symbolises the western wall of the holy temple of Jerusalem. The bear is holding the 3 menorahs (fire) of love, hope and and prayer.

Country : North Korea
Top part of the bear shows Paektu Mountain in North Korea, bottom shows the Hallasan Mountain in South Korea. Joining the town mountrain symbolises the unity of the Korean people.

Liberty Bear

Country : South Korea
Based on the legend of the female bear who marries Hwanung and gaves birth to Dangun who sets up the first states of Korea.

Country : Myanmar

Country : Moldovo
Moldovo is a green land and the bears tells a few satiric stories happened in the past 20 years.

There are just too many bears ... I'm gonna go hug them one by one.

This is the United Buddy Bear that represents Malaysia! Peace y'all!

And this is a special bear that touches me.
It promotes respect for all life, not only human beings but all-beings.

Logos Hope, the Floating Bookshop

Have you heard of MV Doulos before? Well if you haven't, then you can continue to read this. If you have , then just skip to the photos. See MV Doulos is the oldest ship in the world that is still working. I fondly remember it as the floating book shop. I visited it when I was really young. Basically it is run by a group of missionary to spread the word of Jesus. In 2009, the MV Doulos is no longer allowed to sail anymore as there was apparently some ruling against it. We don't want it to sink with the crews right? So now it is park somewhere in a harbour in Singapore and probably serves as a floating restaurant.

So, in replaced of MV Doulos is the MV Logos Hope. It serves with the same idea, sail around the world and stop at each country as a floating book shop.

So I brought my 5 year old son to Logos Hope for the experience of going inside such a big ship and of course to hear the word of Jesus.

I don't remember that we were entertained during my school days when I was in Doulos but we were entertained with a short play by the crew on "Secret Treasure" play. Guess you'll know that the secret treasure is not gold or diamond but the most important book in the world, the Bible. Why treasure? Because it gives you the secret to eternity life! Ah, I like that concept. Brilliant!

And of course after the show, the kids get to take a picture with the crew.

After the play, we proceed to the book fair. Didn't managed to take any picture because it was so crowded. And then as we head out of the book fair, we walk through a maze of pictures ... hmmm, its the Prodigal Son's story, well the modern version of it.

And of course the kids get to turn some steering as if they are driving the ship.

Or to take silly pictures such as these ones. Take your pick, captain or diver?

VW Auto Das Show 2011 (Asia)

OK seriously, I'm not one of those people who goes to auto show or car show or even interested about cars. In fact this is the first time. That is also because we happened to be on my way back home and my hubs practically just swerve into the auto show because of its big white dome that can't be missed from the highway. He then of course told me that the 360 degrees AV show is apparently the first of its kind in Asia or world or something like that. So, I knew the trip was totally planned!

Well, all in all, I must say that the 360 degrees AV show is an eye opening. I wasn't at all ready to take picture or video and so the below video hardly even pass the amateur standard but still, it is an experience that I managed to record using my I-phone.

Anyway, by the time you read this, the show is over because the day we went which was last Sunday is the final showdown. So, here it is, VW cars in cat walk!

Putrajaya Floria 2011

Last Saturday, we went to Putrajaya yet again for the Floria 2011. Essentially, it is actually a Flower and Garden Festival but we went there to see the float instead.

So we had dinner and jam ourselves in to the Precinct 2 of Putrajaya. See how a few floats got us KLites all excited.

Anyway, I guess there is nothing to write except to show some of the pictures that I managed to capture admist the sweaty crowds and noisy children.

So apart from the float, there are some beautiful maidens doing some dancing thingy.

And of course without fail, the fireworks display
