Your Majesty

Your majesty,
Are you going to speak up and protect your people?
Are you going to let the tyrants used your name in vain?
Can't you hear the cries of your people?
Can't you differentiate the real love for the country vs the desire to continue their rule to rape the country?

Let not those who don't love the country,
Let not those who rampantly abuse their power,
Let not those who don't believe in human rights,
To continue their reign with empty pledges and deceitful promises.

Your majesty,
Please listen to your people!
Please make the oppression stop!
Do not let your people be frightened by the despicable threats,
for we love this land, nation and country and will fight not to allow it rot in the devil's feet.

I-City, fairy land at night

So after the KLites got bored with the endless mall-ing, dining, shopping or partying in the city, what do you think excites us and makes us drives to a suburb about 45 mins away from the city?

I've heard of I-city for many months now. It started with our Ministry of Tourism having her photos taken there and then the gorgeous superstar Simon Yam from Hong Kong went there for a Canon event and has loads of his photos taken there. It then follows with countless Asian celebrities who went there for photoshoot as well. It makes me wonder how come a few digital light trees can garner so much hype and publicity. I figured I should pay a visit myself since it is hardly 20 mins drive from where I stay. I guess I can drive that 20 mins on a boring Saturday evening and see what's the big hoo haa is all about.

I'm in for a surprise because the I-City park looks like a fairy land at night. No words could actually describe the atmosphere there except to be there yourself. I hope some of my pictures will help to give an idea what it is. At some point, it looks like Christmas, at some point, it looks like the beautiful Pandora forest.

Star light star bright
They light up the sky.

Blue, orange, green and white
Seems like fairy land comes alive.

Battle of the sunsets

I have witnessed a lot of beautiful sunsets during my course of travelling. These are the top 4 sunsets that was captured in my camera lens and as well as in my memory.

Jimbaran Bay, Bali, Indonesia
This is like my honeymoon sunset. You know, when you're just married for a week, having the just-the-two-of-you trip, holding hand watching sunset, it gotta be the most romantic sunset ever.

Dandenong, Victoria, Australia
This picture was taken using a mobile phone. This is like a surprise sunset because I have no idea that the sunset view driving down from Mt Dandenong can be so beautiful.

Phnom Bakheng, Siem Reap, Cambodia
I climbed a hill and countless steps to be at Phnom Bakheng just to view the sunset. It is not a very spectacular one as it was raining season with heavy clouds and all but this is the only sunset where I'm in the companies of 300 others in the confined of the small rooftop on the temple.

Dead Sea, Jordan Valley
This is by far the most breathtaking and beautiful sunset I have the opportunity to watch. Period.

Sunsets marks the end of the day
But promises it will rise for another new day.
The big orange ball changes the skyline
To remind us to stop and give thanks to 'Thine'.
A year has gone by to be remembered as history
A new year will come and what will become is still a mystery.

Happy New Year Everyone!

The history and the memory

I thought how lucky I am,
I thought how sad they are;
I thought what's life without beautiful things,
I thought how bizarre life can be for them.

The fact is I know nothing,
The fact is they are just as happy;
The fact is they live thru to see the brutality,
The fact is they survived and accept whatevers left of it.

Angkor saw its 500 years of glory,
Khmer Rouge saw its 5 years of crimes against humanity;
They have the pride of history,
They have the tears of memory.

Dedicated to all the Kampuchea kids ... thank you for showing me what's important in life.

My wish are launched

On a beautiful full moon night,
My wish are launched to fight
With all the stars that shine so bright,
I hope my wish will grab your sight.

My Dream Home

Wading in the clear blue water
beneath the big orange sky
is where it all begins.

A place I called dream,
A dream to called it home,
Home by the lake edge.

Greens in the room
Fishes in the pond
Laughters on top of it all

I yearn to make it mine
a place to come home by
for a very long time.

I wrote this poem approximately about 2 years ago when I first visited Lake Edge. Today is the 1st anniversary of moving into my dream home.

Guide from above

When I’m sad
When I’m in despair
When I almost give up
God asked me to look around
Look not with my eyes
But with my heart
Hear not the voices
But the meaning from within
Then I’ll know
For without bitterness,
I wouldn’t understand the taste of sweetness.
For without hardship
There is no meaning to the reward
bestow upon me.

Inspiration from Bangkok

I saw in the foreign land
Seas of yellow
Of well wishers
For their sick king

I learnt in the foreign land
Respect and loyalty
Is earned in time
Not by demand nor by force

How long will these aggressors
Who attacks and kills
Will finally understands
When it doesn’t comes from the heart, it meant nothing.

My Faithful Friend

I consider myself very lucky
to have known one faithful friend
in this lifetime,
even if it’s only for a short eight years.

He found me one afternoon
in a wet car porch.
He’s hungry and in pain
from ticks feasting on his small frail body.

I fell in love instantly
Easily included him into my life
Feeding, caring and playing
becoming big part of my time.

The smell of his fur
The feel of his warm body
The loudness of his presence
clearly stuck in my mind.

He share my happiness
as well as my sorrow
He took time listening to me
as I have walking and bathing him

We have an understanding
though we did not share the same language
He learned of his name
I learned of his ever ready aim

Just about the time
when I take things for granted
he fell sick
and I knew he’ll never been the same.

My pastor asked during his sermon one day
where can you find a faithful servant
waiting for you to come home
even on second or third watch of the night

I yelled out inside my heart
“I have one!”
he’s not my servant
he’s a faithful friend of mine

That same night
he refused to stand up
I kneel in front of him
crying and telling him how much I love him

He looked at me
seemingly understands
he closed his eyes
and I know he has gone from my life

I dedicate this
to my faithful friend.
If you could look down upon me from above
Rest assured that you’ll be always be in my mind.

The greatest gift

I got it
The greatest gift of all
but I need you
Almighty, Almighty;
To guide me to love
as you have to us;
To give me the patience
as you have for us;
To teach me the perseverance
as you have in us.
