The land of Evian, Perrier and macarons

Ahhh, Paris. The city that symbolises love, culture and everything that we dream of. Its beautiful, its romantic, its simply ... ooh la la.

I have always dream of going to Paris. Had the chance few years ago when I was in London but skip the plan because my better half weren't there. Must go there with love ones to experience the city together. And so, we went last week to celebrate our 10th Anniversary.

As much as people have a lot of positive things to say about Paris, there is a fair share of negative comments as well. The most common ones are that the city are dirty, the people are not friendly and rude. Well, I have to agree about the 'dirty' part. See, we must understand that Parisians are quite well known for being pet lovers and smokers. So as you walk around Paris, beware of dog poops and cigarette butts.

Apart from that, I can't think of anything negative to say about Paris. Its the city of love, everywhere you go, you see people hugging and kissing passionately. It is the land of Evian, Perrier and macarons. Its the city of catwalks and designer brands with good looking people all over. Its the land of cultures with masterpiece sculptures donning the city parks and priceless paintings in countless museums around the city. Its architecture is to be awed at. Indeed its the city of lights (La Ville-Lumière).

And talking about rude, I have no such encounter at all.  In fact I have been greeted 'Bonjour' and 'Au revoir' by too many people that I have master the way to pronounce it. While shopping in La Fayette, the sales personnel has been so polite and courteous. While we stand in front of a restaurant trying to figure out what the menu means, the maitre d' came out to explain to us. Talking about menu, the duck confit in Paris is to die for.

In the coming blogs, I'll be writing about Paris according to area by area. For the time being, here's the picture of the icon of Paris who needs no introduction.
